PROCESS ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Roles (Basic Function and Scope)

a) Provides direct and specific design engineering support in the process area to assigned project teams within the Nigerian Project Organization. Performs the assigned technical tasks in a format agreed upon between the Project Manager (PM) and the Design Engineering Services Manager (DESM). Ensures that the tasks can be completed within the framework of EMCAPs and within an agreed timeframe. Identifies, defines, and performs the assigned tasks, including finalizing pre-requisite tasks or information. Updates and reports the progress of deliverables to the PM and DESM on a regular basis.
b) Coordinates / oversees design contractor activities in the process discipline area for assigned projects.
c) Continually assesses refinements/changes and recommends updates for the maintenance of specifications and standards used in the Projects Department including the Global Practices (GP), Design Management Manual (DMM) and the Design Execution References (DER). Responsible for coordinating reviews, endorsement and final approval for changes to these specifications and guidelines using Projects' MoC procedures.
d) Ensures that all relevant aspects of the quality assurance and control (QA/QC) programs and procedures are strictly followed in the performance of all work. Ensures the integration of the requirements of the Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) in all work, tasks or deliverables.
e) Follows and implements the established project objectives and strategies in all work. This includes maintaining COMPANY production at established levels as well as providing safe, economic, and efficient proposals to enhance hydrocarbon recovery or to increase associated facility integrity.
f) Performs ad hoc medium and long term technical design engineering studies aimed at improving project engineering effectiveness, including risk, constructability, design and execution assessments.
g) Provides continual interface with external departments, especially Loss Prevention, Development Planning, Facilities Engineering, Facilities Operations Technical Engineering and all core JV Operations groups.
h) When assigned the role of Lead Design Engineer (LDE) for a specific design engineering services Work Order, represents COMPANY,coordinates design activities and interfaces with Project Engineer (PE) to align design work with project objectives.

THE POSITION
We are currently looking for high calibre experienced Maintenance Supervisors (Mechanical) for our Middle East and Africa land operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES OF THE ROLE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
Ensure that all the Chief Mechanics from the rigs in Oman report on a daily basis regarding maintenance issues.
Maintain a preventative maintenance programme in base for all equipment in the tool park and ensure the Chief Mechanics on the rig maintain equipment in accordance with company repair and preventative maintenance procedures.
Comply with all KCA Deutag and Clients safety awareness, work guidance and permit to work procedures.
Manage work activities and training for all personnel within the maintenance department (Including Chief Mechanics, Assistant Mechanics and Welders).
Coach and mentor subordinates as required.
Ensure that all Third Party personnel including Service Engineers comply with Company and Installation Safety Procedures.
Ensure that all equipment on the rigs under their control complies with statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a safe condition.
Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimise the affect on the drilling operation and reduce NPT.
Ensure compliance with Safety Alerts, Equipment manufacturers bulletins etc.
Ensure Management of Change and Dispensation procedures are followed by the Maintenance personnel on the rigs.
Ensure Audits are conducted during rig visits and close out actions agreed and tracked through MSV reports.
Update or modify any drawings, sketches or information on existing and replacement equipment as required or provide such information to management and maintain the database in Oman.
Help out on projects which need to be executed on a regular basis for the rigs.
Ensure that the Rig Maintenance teams review their critical spares list and spare parts are maintained on the rigs and Oman Warehouse/yard in environmentally sound conditions.
Recommend and when required embody modifications to equipment or systems to enhance safety, improve rig performance or comply with statutory notices.
Liaise with Operations team on any matters relating to the safe operation of the rigs.
Monitor any rig equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to ensure that it is suitable for use within the areas desired.
Help Rig Managers/Drilling Superintendents by providing them and supporting Maintenance Superintendents on CAPEX investments requirements and replacement strategy.
Accompany representatives of certifying authorities on inspections of the rigs as required.
Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required.
Attend, at Group base or Client premises, meetings and training, as required.

MAIN FUNCTION:
• Champion Worker Safety Programs
• Oversee site contractor fabrication, construction, and hookup work activities during Execution Phase, in particular cable pulling and terminations, motors and breakers installation and connection, all electrical and instrument installation as well as pre-commissioning and commissioning (motors bumping, breakers testing, cables megger and continuity testing, instruments calibration, loop checking).
• Serve as member of the Project Team (PT)
• Provide the interface between the work face and the Construction Site Lead, as well as with the QA/QC reps
