THE POSITION
We
are currently looking for high calibre experienced Maintenance
Supervisors (Mechanical) for our Middle East and Africa land operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES OF THE ROLE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
Ensure that all the Chief Mechanics from the rigs in Oman report on a daily basis regarding maintenance issues.
Maintain
a preventative maintenance programme in base for all equipment in the
tool park and ensure the Chief Mechanics on the rig maintain equipment
in accordance with company repair and preventative maintenance
procedures.
Comply with all KCA Deutag and Clients safety awareness, work guidance and permit to work procedures.
Manage
work activities and training for all personnel within the maintenance
department (Including Chief Mechanics, Assistant Mechanics and Welders).
Coach and mentor subordinates as required.
Ensure that all Third Party personnel including Service Engineers comply with Company and Installation Safety Procedures.
Ensure
that all equipment on the rigs under their control complies with
statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a safe
condition.
Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimise the affect on the drilling operation and reduce NPT.
Ensure compliance with Safety Alerts, Equipment manufacturers bulletins etc.
Ensure Management of Change and Dispensation procedures are followed by the Maintenance personnel on the rigs.
Ensure Audits are conducted during rig visits and close out actions agreed and tracked through MSV reports.
Update
or modify any drawings, sketches or information on existing and
replacement equipment as required or provide such information to
management and maintain the database in Oman.
Help out on projects which need to be executed on a regular basis for the rigs.
Ensure
that the Rig Maintenance teams review their critical spares list and
spare parts are maintained on the rigs and Oman Warehouse/yard in
environmentally sound conditions.
Recommend and when required embody
modifications to equipment or systems to enhance safety, improve rig
performance or comply with statutory notices.
Liaise with Operations team on any matters relating to the safe operation of the rigs.
Monitor
any rig equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to
ensure that it is suitable for use within the areas desired.
Help Rig
Managers/Drilling Superintendents by providing them and supporting
Maintenance Superintendents on CAPEX investments requirements and
replacement strategy.
Accompany representatives of certifying authorities on inspections of the rigs as required.
Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required.
Attend, at Group base or Client premises, meetings and training, as required.
EXPERIENCE / KEY ATTRIBUTES
Proven experience as Maintenance Supervisor
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to coach and mentor others
