Vacancy for Senior Process Engineer - Nigeria
Aldelia Ltd Purpose Statement:To develop and implement processes in support of the NGMP project towards:• Developing gas transmission and distribution systems throughout Nigeria. • Devising and managing appropriate contracting strategies in line with Group Business Principles• Managing the company's interface with government agencies and local communities. • Ensuring that all company activities meet statutory and Group HSE standards.Key Deliverables:• Coordinates the activities of assigned personnel in assigned Process Engineering Unit. • Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position. • Advises on engineering activities related to the Company's existing and proposed process facilities. Participates as a member of special or ad hoc committees to study various technical problems/facilities, such as gas, crude, etc. • Participates in the evaluation of plant modification requests involving a wide variety of process elements or problems, recommends solutions, acceptance or rejection of proposed changes, as appropriate. • Receives various requests for engineering support through Project Manager, which may involve one or several technical activities, such as to carry out conceptual design, evaluate consultants design packages, inspect suspected faults on site or to provide simple advice on process matters etc. • Supervises the preparation of conceptual designs for major and minor process related projects or for projects that have process design content, inclusive of preparation of cost estimates and scopes of work. • Provides process engineering assistance to other departments in the preparation of detailed design packages. Includes, in cases where consultants are used, the discussion of the concept, design standards and criteria to be used. • Visits various operational locations to survey or to advice on any special problems which may arise. Liaises with operation to prepare/coordinate commissioning and start-up procedures. • Assists in budget preparation exercises by preparing preliminary cost estimates and advising on project phasing taking into account long lead items and Company procedures. • Co-ordinates with the process engineers and updates process engineering standards, design philosophies and participates in the preparation of standard design consultancy contract framework. • Carries out other similar or related duties such as participating in value engineering studies & safety audits of existing plants to identify opportunities of cost optimization, deficiencies/hazards, and recommend suitable remedial actions, assisting in budget exercises by preparing cost estimates for future projects for inclusion in the budget & advising on project phasing taking into account long lead items and Company Procedures. • Leads any HAZOP Sessions and participates and attends in Hazard Assessment sessions. • Ensures Company health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives are effectively implemented. • Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by the line manager

Working Relationships• Consultants, Construction contractors and Material suppliers in relevant work area.• Community /Traditional Leaders within project areas.• Government (Local, State & Federal) authorities in NGC, FEPA, SEPA, FMW&H, DPR, National Inland Waterways Authority.• Representatives of other utility companies (Nitel, NEPA etc.)• SPDC Managers• Customers. Status: tbc Required Skills/Experience: Minimum Qualification / Experience:• An Bachelors degree(s) in Chemical, Petroleum or Process Engineering with evidence of • 8 to 10 years post – degree/qualification experience in Oil & Gas, 5 of which should be in projects with 3 of that in Gas Design Projects, or as Process/Design Engineer.Knowledge/Skills:• Must have good experience in the Oil and Gas industry • Professional and technical skill in Process Design, Gas Plant Design and Project Implementation• Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task • Effective verbal and written Communication skills. • High interpersonal skills necessary to work with other functions and Contractors. • Team player. • Conflict management and problem solving skills. • Negotiation skills persuasion influencing skills. Desired Skills/Experience: Personality Traits:• The candidate must have creativity, enthusiasm, high energy, optimism, and a team player mentality• Ability to follow through all projects.• An analytical strategist.• Good communicator and motivator• Flexible with ability to implement controls & systems.• Excellent track record (with demonstrated successes).
